Jonathan Anderson and Luca Guadagnino have strengthened their creative alliance with the launch of a JW Anderson capsule collection inspired by the upcoming film, Queer. Following their previous collaboration on “Challengers,” which introduced the popular “I told ya” T-shirts worn by Zendaya and Josh O’Connor, this new collection continues the fusion of fashion and cinematic storytelling.
Queer, starring Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey, is based on the semi-autobiographical novella by William S. Burroughs. The collection features a range of apparel and accessories, including caps, canvas bags, hoodies, sweaters and T-shirts, priced from £100 to £225. Anderson has thoughtfully incorporated images from the film, such as a striking shot of seven guns, a movie camera accompanied by an ashtray and magazine, and a poignant still of Craig and Starkey on a beach.
One notable piece in the collection is a hoodie printed with a line from Justin Kuritzkes’ screenplay: “I want to talk to you… without talking.” This is the second collaboration between JW Anderson and Kuritzkes, the first being “Challengers.”
Kuritzkes praised Anderson’s approach to costume design, saying, “He really had no ego. He was really all about what was absolutely right for the characters. He admired Anderson’s seamless transition to film, highlighting it as “a testament to his intelligence.“
The capsule debuted on December 11 at jwanderson.com and is available at JW Anderson stores in London and Milan. Each piece aligns with the film’s central themes and visuals, offering fans a tangible connection to the story.
