Disney has unveiled an enchanting look at its upcoming live-action adaptation of Snow White, featuring Rachel Zegler performing the new song “Waiting on a Wish.” The clip showcases Zegler’s vocal talents as she brings a fresh take to the iconic princess.
Composed by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul of La La Land and The Greatest Showman, the song adds emotional depth to the classic tale. The lyrics convey Snow White’s hopes for a brighter future as she longs to “leave the walls behind” and waits for a miracle to find her.
The footage also reveals Snow White’s journey, including her escape into the forest and her encounters with the Seven Dwarfs. In a stirring moment, she gathers her allies to take back her kingdom, declaring, “The Queen stole everything from all of us, it’s time to restore our kingdom. This is our kingdom and now we’re here to take it back.”
In addition to Zegler, the movie stars Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen and Andrew Burnap as Jonathan, Snow White’s love interest. Fans will appreciate the inclusion of original songs such as “Heigh-Ho” and “Whistle While You Work,” preserving beloved elements of the 1937 animated classic.
Directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Greta Gerwig and Erin Cressida Wilson, this adaptation reimagines the beloved story while honoring its legacy. The original film was Disney’s first major animated feature and pioneered a legacy of fairy tale storytelling.
Snow White will be released in theaters on March 21.
