Renowned singer-songwriter John Legend has joined forces with luxury brand Montblanc, becoming the new ambassador for their iconic Legend fragrance line. This collaboration brings together two legends in their respective fields, creating a partnership that exudes sophistication and style.
The Grammy-winning artist will represent all five fragrances in the Legend collection, including the latest addition, Legend Blue. This fresh and invigorating scent, retailing at $115, captures the essence of confidence and charisma that both Legend and Montblanc embody.
Philippe Benacin, CEO of Interparfums, Montblanc’s parent company, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “John Legend is the right artist to connect with Legend — it just makes sense.” This sentiment perfectly encapsulates the synergy between the brand and its new face.
Legend’s debut campaign for Montblanc showcases him at a piano, composing a unique piece inspired by the cedarwood notes of Legend Blue. This creative process beautifully illustrates the connection between music and fragrance, two art forms that evoke powerful emotions and memories.
The artist himself recognizes the parallels between his craft and Montblanc’s legacy. “As a writer and composer, I love that Montblanc enables people to write their stories beautifully with precision and care, and in doing so, craft their own legacy and legend,” Legend remarked in a statement.
Discussions underway for Legend to potentially represent Montblanc’s accessories and their signature Meisterstück pen. The latter makes a subtle appearance in the Legend Blue campaign, further cementing the brand’s commitment to the art of writing.
Vincent Montalescot, Montblanc’s chief marketing and merchandising officer, highlighted the shared values between the brand and its new ambassador: “Montblanc Legend and John Legend share much more than a name.…Montblanc is rooted in the culture of writing, [it is] a timeless brand that celebrates and fosters creativity and self-expression.”
Legend’s involvement with Montblanc was hinted at during the brand’s recent 100th anniversary celebration in Los Angeles, where he delivered a captivating performance. His two-year contract with Montblanc will see him fronting the next addition to the Legend fragrance line, set to launch in January 2026.
