CASIO expands its esteemed G-SHOCK line with the GBM-2100RH, a timepiece meticulously crafted in collaboration with Los Angeles Lakers forward Rui Hachimura. This exceptional watch embodies Hachimura’s unwavering tenacity and remarkable skill on the NBA hardwood, and reflects the quintessential G-SHOCK ethos: toughness, durability and cutting-edge design. In the spirit of the basketball court, this timepiece features an octagonal metal bezel, a gold dial that evokes the shine of the court’s hardwood floor, and distinctive embellishments such as the prominent 八 (hachi) symbol representing Hachimura’s emblematic No. 8 jersey.
The GBM-2100RH-1A, a luxurious metal-clad analog-digital marvel, is not only a style statement but also a technological tour de force, featuring Tough Solar and Bluetooth capabilities. The watch features a black ion-plated stainless steel bezel, harmoniously paired with a black resin strap. The striking gold dial features an intricate background pattern that artfully mimics the hardwood floor of a basketball court, complete with white lines that meticulously delineate the key section and baseline. Enhancing the sense of exclusivity, the watch is presented in a distinctive co-branded packaging, proudly featuring G-SHOCK creator Kikuo Ibe’s inspirational motto, “Never Give Up,” printed on the bottom.
Hachimura, who was closely involved in the design process, shared his vision for the timepiece: “We designed this model to appeal to both sports and fashion enthusiasts.” This collaboration marks the fourth limited-edition signature G-SHOCK watch designed with Hachimura, underscoring his ongoing partnership with the brand.
The GBM-2100 series, first introduced in May 2024, reaches a new pinnacle with the GBM-2100RH-1A. It is the first model in the series to follow the four inaugural releases and the first to feature a metal band keeper. The GBM-2100 masterfully combines the robust metal bezel structure of the GM-2100 with the advanced solar and related functions of the GA-B2100 resin.
