Breitling CEO Georges Kern has invested in Soeder, a Swiss luxury natural soap and skincare brand. Kern’s investment is a personal one, driven by his commitment to sustainability and his desire to bring the best of Swiss brands to a global audience.
Soeder was founded in Zurich in 2013 by Hanna and Johan Olzon Akerstrom, with the goal of making skin care kinder to both the body and the environment. The brand’s products are developed and manufactured locally in its Zurich factory using only 100 percent natural ingredients, including Swiss honey, wheat proteins, and cold-pressed organic oils. Soeder’s products are free of synthetic additives and come in refillable packaging, with bottles made of glass and locally recycled plastic.
Kern’s investment in Soeder is significant as it underscores the growing importance of sustainable, natural products in the beauty industry. As CEO of Breitling, Kern has driven the company’s sustainability strategy, which includes using only lab-grown diamonds and responsibly mined gold. His investment in Soeder is a natural extension of this commitment, as the brand shares his values of sustainability and quality.
As part of his investment, Kern has joined Soeder’s board of directors and plans to help the company expand into new markets and increase its global brand awareness. Soeder’s products are currently sold in 500 stores in Europe, the US and Asia, including Bergdorf Goodman, KaDeWe and 25 Hours Hotels. The brand also has three stand-alone stores in Zurich and Basel, Switzerland.
Soeder’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its products, packaging and business practices. The brand has more than 130 refill stations, and its products are designed to be good for both the body and the environment. Soeder’s founders, Hanna and Johan Olzon Akerstrom, are committed to creating products that are truly good for people and the planet, and they strive for full transparency every step of the way.
