White Mountaineering unveils its Spring 2025 collection, “Unplugged,” taking men’s fashion to new heights. Designer Yosuke Aizawa’s latest creations seamlessly blend functionality and style, drawing inspiration from his travels and the untamed beauty of nature.
The collection showcases an array of versatile, outdoorsy layer-ables that reflect Aizawa’s personal journey between the bustling streets of Tokyo and the serene mountains of Nagano. A striking lion print, discovered by the designer during his student years, adorns windbreakers, shirts, and shorts, paired with graphic jacquard sweaters in sun-kissed hues. The brand’s signature white silhouettes and textured knits pay homage to the breathtaking snowfall visible from Aizawa’s mountain retreat and his recently completed boutique hotel, “Not a Hotel.”
Aizawa’s design process has evolved alongside technological advancements, enabling him to push boundaries in functional patterns and innovative fabrics. A standout piece is the black technical windbreaker, featuring snap-down flaps and concealed zip breast pockets, providing both style and practicality for the modern adventurer. Wrinkle-free pants in technical nylon, enhanced with a discreet stretchy panel, offer unparalleled comfort and flexibility.
The collection also showcases a stunning coat with a blurred motif in shades of black, white, and gray, mimicking the appearance of tie-dye. However, this intricate design is a result of a jacquard rendering of traditional Japanese calligraphy paper, demonstrating Aizawa’s ability to fuse tradition with modern techniques.
White Mountaineering’s footwear collaborations with Reebok, Rig Footwear, and Umbro, the Italian sneaker brand celebrating its centennial, further elevate the collection. These partnerships offer fans an opportunity to complete their look with expertly crafted, stylish shoes that complement the brand’s aesthetic.
