QASIMI Rising, the talent incubation arm of renowned London-based label QASIMI, is expanding its reach into Africa through a new partnership with Lagos Fashion Week. The alliance aims to discover and nurture the continent’s next generation of design stars.
Founded by visionary Khalid Al Qasimi, QASIMI Rising has consistently championed emerging talent. By partnering with Lagos Fashion Week, the initiative expands its reach and shines a spotlight on African creativity. Through this collaboration, QASIMI Rising will actively identify and nurture design talent across Africa, offering selected designers a coveted place in the 2026 incubation program.
QASIMI Rising’s rigorous three-year incubation process offers more than financial support; it provides invaluable seven-year mentorship. Selected designers will gain access to QASIMI’s extensive resources, including a co-working space, studio, and world-class expertise in production, product development, merchandising, marketing, and business operations.
Hoor Al Qasimi, founder of QASIMI Rising, expressed her commitment to fostering a thriving fashion community across Africa and beyond. She emphasized the partnership’s role in nurturing local talent, empowering creativity and securing global recognition.
A key aspect of this collaboration is the appointment of Omoyemi Akerele, the driving force behind Lagos Fashion Week, as regional ambassador and advisor for the QASIMI Rising program. Akerele’s commitment to supporting emerging talent aligns perfectly with the goals of the initiative.
The inaugural QASIMI Rising program, launched last year, showcased the talents of Omer Asim from Sudan and Salim Azzam from Lebanon. With its focus now on Africa, QASIMI Rising is poised to usher in a new era of fashion innovation, bridging the gap between local talent and international acclaim.
