Colm Dillane, the visionary behind KidSuper, partnered with Cirque du Soleil to create a Spring 2025 show that transcended traditional runway boundaries.
The Trianon, a historic Parisian concert hall, served as the perfect backdrop for this avant-garde presentation. Dillane’s collaboration with Cirque du Soleil marked a significant milestone for both entities, pushing the envelope of creative expression in the fashion industry.
Models moved across the stage like living marionettes, their limbs connected to oversized papier-mâché hands, symbolizing the delicate balance between autonomy and external influence. This powerful visual metaphor set the tone for a collection that seamlessly merged wearable art with thought-provoking concepts.
Standout pieces included suits adorned with intricate wooden puppet prints, worn by Cirque performers and opened by model Alton Mason in a mesmerizing display of controlled movement. The collection showcased Dillane’s evolving artistic vision, featuring sophisticated renditions of his signature paintings on everything from circus master coats to patchwork leather jackets.
KidSuper’s Spring 2025 line demonstrated a marked elevation in quality and craftsmanship. Dillane acknowledged the brand’s growth, noting the increased willingness of his customer base to invest in higher-end pieces. This shift allowed for more experimental designs, such as suits in painterly camouflage patterns and a dress constructed entirely from clown ruffle collars.
The show’s finale was nothing short of spectacular, with Cirque du Soleil acrobats performing breathtaking feats that left the audience in awe. From hair suspension artists to German wheel acts, the performers seamlessly integrated their skills into the fabric of the fashion presentation.
Celebrity attendees, including Jared Leto and French Montana, bore witness to KidSuper’s evolution from streetwear upstart to a serious contender in high fashion. The brand’s collaboration with Cirque du Soleil extends beyond the runway, with a special capsule collection of co-branded products set to release.
