Diesel has appointed Måneskin’s charismatic frontman Damiano David as its inaugural global male ambassador. This partnership marks a significant milestone for the OTB Group-owned brand, aligning with David’s distinctive style and the brand’s commitment to nonconformity and inclusivity.
Damiano David, known for his powerful stage presence and edgy fashion sense, embodies the essence of the Diesel man. His appointment strengthens the brand’s connection to the music world, a theme often explored in creative director Glenn Martens’ collections.
“Damiano has his style, very strong. And I think it’s a quite personal style, which is very well reflecting on how I like to see people today,” Martens commented in a video revealing the collaboration.
The partnership also comes with plans for a genderless capsule collection co-designed by Martens and David. This creative collaboration is set to launch later this year, further cementing the bond between the brand and the artist.
David’s association with Diesel was previewed at the recent Met Gala, where he wore a custom-designed tuxedo by Martens. The outfit showcased the designer’s innovative devoré technique, revealing Damiano David’s tattoos through strategically placed details.
“I am very proud of the collaboration and share the same mindset with Martens,” David expressed, highlighting the synergy between the artist and the brand.
This partnership comes at a time when Måneskin’s international fame continues to soar, following their Eurovision Song Contest victory in 2021. The band, comprising David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi, and Ethan Torchio, has been making waves in the music and fashion industries alike.
