The Adizero Adios Pro 4 is the latest iteration in adidas‘ quest for marathon dominance. Building on the success of its predecessors, most notably the Adizero Adios Pro line, which has been a mainstay on the feet of marathon champions since 2020, this shoe aims to redefine speed and performance. Developed at the adidas Innovation Lab in Herzogenaurach, Germany, the shoe has undergone rigorous testing with everyday runners and elite athletes around the world. The result is a meticulously crafted shoe that optimizes speed and efficiency for marathon runners of all levels.
One of the standout features of the Adizero Adios Pro 4 is its redesigned forefoot rocker. Inspired by the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1, the rocker is strategically placed at 60% of the shoe’s length to promote forward propulsion and improve running economy. This innovative design works in conjunction with a full-length Lightstrike Pro midsole to provide a lightweight and responsive cushioning system that absorbs shock and propels the runner forward.
adidas introduces a first-of-its-kind Lightlock upper in the Adizero Adios Pro 4. This lightweight, one-way stretch woven mesh upper, reinforced with internal locking bands, provides a secure and snug fit essential for maintaining speed and stability over long distances. This is complemented by a redesigned lacing system that provides a locked-down feel throughout the run.
Performance is further enhanced by the Lighttraxion outsole. adidas studied the impact patterns of its top athletes to determine where grip is most important. This data informed the design of a new patterned outsole, strategically placing material in key areas to maximize grip and traction.
The Adizero Adios Pro 4 will be available in the familiar Adios Pro colorway and will retail for €250 / $250. Runners can expect its widespread release in January 2025.
