Samsung Art Store and Art Basel are teaming up once more, this time at Art Basel Miami Beach. This builds on their partnership, which kicked off earlier this year in Basel, Switzerland. This partnership brings a curated collection of contemporary artworks from Art Basel’s exhibiting galleries straight to The Frame, Samsung’s lifestyle TV. This is a big step towards making top-quality art accessible to a wider audience.
Samsung and Art Basel first joined forces in Switzerland, where they set up an immersive Collectors Lounge. This partnership is further strengthened by a new initiative launching curated collections for the Samsung Art Store every three months, with the first one now available. This means that subscribers all over the world can enjoy highlights from Art Basel, as well as existing collections from top institutions like The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, and The Musée d’Orsay.
Art Basel Miami Beach is a major art fair in the Americas, attracting thousands of art fans every year. This year, we’re taking the experience straight to millions of screens with The Frame. In the run-up to Art Basel Miami Beach (6-8 December 2024), Samsung Art Store subscribers can enjoy over 15 select works from participating galleries, some of which will be on show at the Miami Beach Convention Center. This curated collection features work from some of the top international contemporary galleries, including James Cohan, Kasmin, moniquemeloche, mor charpentier, Nara Roesler, Roberts Projects, and Tina Kim. This is a great way to get a sneak peek at the art on display at Art Basel.
Art Basel has been the go-to place for modern and contemporary art since it was founded in 1970. This year, Miami Beach will play host to 286 top galleries from 38 countries, showcasing a wide range of artistic mediums, from traditional paintings and sculptures to photography and digital works. Noah Horowitz, CEO of Art Basel, said, “Art Basel’s mission is to power the world of art by connecting leading artists and galleries with art loving audiences. Our collaboration with Samsung allows us to extend that reach like never before by broadening access to leading galleries and significant works from established artists to a new generation of emerging talents.”
Yong Su Kim, EVP and Global Head of Video Services and Partnerships at Samsung, added, “Art Basel represents the pinnacle of contemporary art, and we are thrilled to amplify that experience with leading display technology that brings art to millions of people. Through the Samsung Art Store and the lifelike visuals of The Frame, we are making it possible for anyone to experience Art Basel and take part in an iconic cultural moment.” Thanks to the Samsung Art Store and the realistic images of The Frame, anyone can now experience Art Basel and be part of this iconic cultural moment.
In line with the “Bringing Art Home” theme, Samsung, as the Official Display Partner, will be running a dedicated Samsung Art Store Collectors Lounge at Art Basel Miami Beach from December 4-8. You can check out artworks displayed on The Frame, which features different bezels from DecoTVFrames. You’ll be able to find The Frame at various points throughout the fair, offering a range of different screen experiences. Aside from the Collectors Lounge, Samsung will also be hosting panel discussions featuring some of the most prominent figures in the contemporary art world. There’ll also be panels on “Celebrating Women in Art and Technology — Innovation and Expression,” led by Daria Greene, and “The Future of Digital Art — Innovation, Rights and Connectivity,” moderated by Maya Harris.
The 2024 edition of The Frame, the Samsung Art Store platform, has some cool new features that make the artistic experience even richer. Plus, it’s got Pantone Validated ArtfulColor Certification, which is a first for an art TV, so you know the visuals are going to be spot on. The Anti-Reflection with Matte Display helps keep the artwork looking its best by minimizing light distractions. The Frame can be hung on the wall like a framed artwork, and it comes in sizes from 32 to 85 inches.
The Frame also has all the latest Samsung tech. It’s the top global TV brand for 18 years running, so you know it’ll deliver clear, crisp visuals. Plus, you get access to over 2,700 free channels (including 400+ premium channels on Samsung TV Plus), console-free gaming through Samsung Gaming Hub, smart home integration, and Samsung Knox security for data protection.
