Six years after their first collaboration, Kim Jones and KAWS have reunited for a vibrant menswear collection at DIOR. In 2018, Jones made his debut for the French fashion house with a runway show featuring a towering 33-foot sculpture by the American artist made from thousands of flowers. The partnership also led to a capsule in which KAWS reimagined DIOR’s iconic bee emblem.
This new collaboration brings a fresh energy to menswear, focusing on a snake motif intricately woven with the DIOR logo. The collection features pastel pink varsity jackets with a snake pattern, baggy track pants accented with DIOR’s Oblique stripes, and satin shirts quilted with the house’s signature cannage pattern. On some pieces, the snake elegantly forms the initials of CD, fusing art and fashion.
“KAWS is incredible as a person and as an artist. He is someone I really admire,” said Jones. “I wanted to have something fun and pop. It’s a bit like Pop Art.“
Jones has consistently fused fashion and art, collaborating with talents such as Daniel Arsham, Kenny Scharf, Hajime Sorayama, Peter Doig and Hylton Nel. By reuniting with KAWS, he strengthens a creative relationship that pushes the boundaries of menswear design.
The collection, which arrives in DIOR stores on January 2, ranges from €270 for ties to €8,800 for patched jackets. Accessories include bags ranging from €1,700 for a Mini Rider messenger to €2,500 for a backpack, and shoes from €990 for the B33 sneakers to €1,250 for the B57s. Embracing KAWS’ roots in street culture, some looks feature the new chunky B35 NXXT sneakers in bright colors like neon yellow and red.
