Jimmy Choo has announced Chinese multihyphenate Wang Yibo as its new global brand ambassador. The partnership marks a significant milestone for the renowned footwear and accessories brand and is in line with its strategy to appeal to a younger, more diverse audience.
Sandra Choi, Jimmy Choo’s Creative Director, expressed her excitement about the collaboration. “Wang Yibo possesses a dynamic amount of talent; he’s a multi-disciplinary creative with an admirable work ethic,” said Choi. “He embodies the essence of the Jimmy Choo man, confident and daring, with an inspiring zest for life.”
The announcement was accompanied by a striking campaign shot in Shanghai, featuring Wang wearing the Diamond Tote, Jimmy Choo’s latest “it” bag, alongside an array of shoes and accessories from the Fall 2024 collection. Shot by photographer Hekaituoyi and styled by YIN, the images perfectly capture the brand’s contemporary aesthetic and Wang’s effortless style.
Wang, who rose to fame as a member of the K-pop boy band Uniq, has since become one of China‘s most sought-after male celebrities. With over 40 million followers on Weibo and a staggering 280 billion impressions on the platform, Wang’s influence in the fashion and entertainment industries is undeniable.
