SONGZIO’s Spring 2025 “Bright Star” collection, presented during Paris Men’s Fashion Week, encapsulates the brand’s signature dualism and introduces a fresh, youthful perspective. Creative director Jay Song’s aquarelle portraits of boys with limitless imagination serve as the collection’s starting point, while the central artwork, the Bright Star Tetraptych oil paintings, symbolizes hope and inspiration.
The collection masterfully converges post-war romanticism with SONGZIO‘s unique technical tailoring and oriental modernism. Cocoon silhouettes, exaggerated volumes, and sculptural draping create a sense of order, while transformative layering, complex patchworks, and asymmetrical mobiles add an iconoclastic disorder. The asymmetric mobiles, crafted from individually hand-cut pieces, evoke both sculptural beauty and elegant fluidity.
SONGZIO’s palette emphasizes its signature black, shades of grey, and navy, with touches of sky blue and pink. The fabrics, ranging from bonded wool and tweed to metallic and synthetic leather, create bold sculptural silhouettes. Simultaneously, meticulous patchworks of light, transparent materials like silk, organza, mesh, cotton, and linen lend an air of fluidity.
The collection also marks the debut of SONGZIO’s women’s line, seamlessly integrating flowing skirts, boatneck tops, and tweed minidresses alongside the men’s offerings. Song’s eye for both the creative and commercial is evident in the intricately pleated shorts, showcasing the brand’s versatility as it prepares for the opening of its Paris flagship.
