Amsterdam-based streetwear boutique Patta is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2024 by revisiting one of its most iconic Nike collaborations – the Air Max 1 Chlorophyll. Originally released in 2009, the “White/Chlorophyll/Matte Silver” colorway has become one of Patta’s most sought-after sneakers. Now, 15 years later, it appears poised for a triumphant return.
Early rumors from reputable leaker @bubblekope pointed to a fall 2024 release for a Patta x Nike Air Max 1 in “Chlorophyll/Chlorophyll/Matte Silver.” The slight variation in the reported colorway name led some to speculate that Patta could be putting a new spin on the classic with subtle changes. However, a recent teaser from Patta’s co-founders seems to indicate a more faithful reproduction is in the works.
In an Instagram post alongside singer Tems, Patta’s Edson Sabajo and Guillaume ‘Gee’ Schmidt can be seen wearing what looks to be the original Air Max 1 Chlorophyll. More tellingly, Tems is holding a special shoebox decked out in the collaboration‘s signature green hue along with 20th anniversary branding – a not-so-subtle hint at what’s inside.
Over the past two decades, Patta has solidified its reputation as one of the premier boutiques in Europe, in large part thanks to its knack for crafting covetable collaborations. In addition to Nike, the retailer has also linked up with brands like Converse and New Balance, most recently dropping the hybrid Air Huarache 20Y24 as part of a larger “Running Team” collection with the Swoosh.
While concrete release details for the 2024 Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Chlorophyll” have yet to be confirmed, the recent teaser all but guarantees the shoes are indeed on the way later this year.
