The new Nike Ja 2 sneakers boasts a bold new colorway dubbed “Nightmare”. Just a week after the initial glimpse of Ja Morant‘s second signature sneaker, Nike offers another tantalizing peek at this potential Halloween-themed iteration.
The Nike Ja 2 “Nightmare” showcases a striking red upper, accented by metallic gold Swoosh logos and a distinctive heel design that sets it apart from its predecessor, the “Stargazer”. Unlike the fluid lines of the “Stargazer”, the Ja 2 “Nightmare” features a more chaotic pattern resembling claw marks, giving it a unique and eye-catching look.
One of the standout features of the Nike Ja 2 “Nightmare” is the eerie embroidery of zombie-like hands on the heel, topped with a gold eyeball. This adds to the overall spooky aesthetic of the shoe, making it perfect for the Halloween season. Additionally, the toe box includes a fang lace lock bearing Morant’s name, adding an extra touch of personality to the shoe.
But what really sets the Nike Ja 2 “Nightmare” apart is the powerful message on the sole, which reads “for the underdogs who have the dawg in them”. This message is complemented by outsole easter eggs featuring the names of Morant’s family members, including his daughter Kaari, sister Teniya, and parents Jamie and Tee.
While official launch details remain under wraps, the Nike Ja 2 is expected to debut this fall at a retail price of $120. The “Nightmare” colorway is rumored for a Halloween release on October 25, catering to both adult and youth fans.
