Marvel, ASICS, and Kith have teamed up to create an extraordinary footwear collection that pays homage to some of the most iconic villains in the Marvel Universe. This partnership, celebrating Marvel’s 85th anniversary, brings together the worlds of comics, sneakers, and streetwear in a way that’s sure to excite fans and sneakerheads alike.
Ronnie Fieg, the visionary behind Kith, has once again demonstrated his prowess in designing unique and captivating sneakers. Working closely with ASICS, Fieg has crafted five distinct models inspired by beloved Marvel antagonists, including Spider-Man’s nemesis Venom, the menacing Green Goblin, the cosmic Silver Surfer, and the magnetic Magneto.
The collection’s centerpiece is undoubtedly the Spider-Man & Venom GT-2160 double-box set. This pairing showcases the duality of these characters, with Spider-Man’s shoe featuring a striking red and blue gradient mesh upper, while Venom’s counterpart embraces a darker aesthetic with predominantly black hues accented by touches of blue.
For Green Goblin enthusiasts, the GT-2160 model offers a bold combination of dark greens and bright yellows, perfectly capturing the villain’s signature look. The Silver Surfer GEL-Kayano 14 stands out with its sleek silver upper, complemented by blue accents on the mid and outsole. Rounding out the collection is the Magneto GEL-1130, the sole representative of this model in the lineup, featuring a mesh upper with leather overlays and distinctive co-branding.
Paul Gitter, Executive Vice President of Global Brand Commercialization at Disney, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “Marvel and Kith share a similar ethos that places both brands at the center of cultural influence and as driving forces in the lifestyle space. Our global collaborations offer consumers unique and modern product offerings that set us apart in today’s market.“
Each sneaker in the collection boasts custom-printed insoles displaying character artwork, adding an extra layer of collectibility for Marvel fans. The attention to detail extends to the branding, with the Marvel logo and Fieg’s signature strategically placed on various parts of the shoes.
