The redesigned Citroën Ami made its world debut at the 2024 Paris Motor Show, marking a significant evolution for the four-year-old quadricycle. Since its surprise launch in 2020, the Ami has become a social phenomenon, attracting more than 65,000 customers and redefining urban and suburban mobility. This quirky, symmetrically designed electric vehicle offers an accessible and innovative solution for unlicensed drivers as young as 14 in some countries. With a range of 75 km and a top speed of 45 km/h, the Ami offers freedom and independence for short trips.
A nod to the past, a look to the future
The restyled Ami retains its compact dimensions, but features a redesigned front and rear fascia. The new headlamps, positioned higher under the windshield, create a friendlier, more mature expression. A capsule-shaped element with the Citroën logo connects the headlights and adds to the car’s playful character. Stripes on the wings pay homage to the iconic Citroën 2CV, linking the Ami to its heritage of simplicity and practicality.
Modern aesthetics, playful design
The redesigned Ami incorporates contemporary design elements such as chequered wheel trims and geometric decals on the rear quarter panels. These features resonate with a younger audience and reinforce the Ami’s position as a trendy and unconventional vehicle. The Ami Buggy Vision concept, also unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, further exemplifies the Ami’s playful spirit. Designed for beach excursions and kitesurfing adventures, this doorless, open-top version features a midnight blue body, white roof and sturdy tires.
Celebrating diversity and accessibility
The Ami Tower, a six-meter-high display on the Citroën stand, highlights the versatility of the Ami. The tower presents three different versions: My Ami for All, adapted for drivers with reduced mobility; My Ami Rose Festival, a vibrant edition celebrating the Rose Festival in Toulouse; and My Ami Peps, a sporty version in the new Night Sepia color. These diverse models demonstrate Ami’s ability to meet a wide range of needs and lifestyles.
The restyled Citroën Ami is set to hit the streets in 2025, building on the success of its predecessor while introducing a more mature and characterful design.
