Since its introduction in 2020, the Rolls-Royce Ghost has been the pinnacle of exclusivity. After four years, however, the super-luxury car has undergone a subtle but significant refresh. A closer look at the exterior design, particularly at the front, reveals the small but significant updates that have been made.
Under the hood, the Ghost retains its powerful twin-turbocharged V12 engine, which has been specially tuned for this model. It delivers an impressive 570 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. For those looking for an extra boost of power, the Ghost Black Badge Series II offers an upgraded option for an even more exhilarating driving experience.
A new era of luxury
The Black Badge Ghost Series II embodies the most powerful, agile and technical expression of Rolls-Royce’s groundbreaking alter ego. According to Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, “Our Black Badge series of motor cars is a space that we have created within our brand for clients to make the most daring and self-confident statements.” The new model is designed to meet the growing demand for a uniquely powerful expression of the Rolls-Royce brand.
Design and features
The Black Badge Ghost Series II boasts a subtle yet striking exterior design, with the most significant styling statement being the lower grille, which features a new geometry with two darkened chrome strips running lengthwise to functional air ducts. The car also retains the Black Badge signature black chrome treatment, which darkens Rolls-Royce hallmarks such as the Spirit of Ecstasy, Pantheon Grille and side-mounted Badge of Honour.
The interior of the Black Badge Ghost Series II features a meticulously crafted Technical Carbon finish, with a complex but restrained diamond-shaped weave of carbon and metallic fibers on a black Bolivar wood base. The car also uses an advanced technique known as physical vapor deposition to darken the interior metals, enhancing the speaker grilles and air vent surrounds on the dashboard and in the rear cabin.
Performance and technology
The Black Badge Ghost Series II is powered by a high performance V12 engine that produces 29hp more power and 50NM more torque than the Ghost Series II. The car also features the Black Badge Planar Suspension system, which incorporates a unique upper wishbone damper unit above the front suspension assembly, coupled with continuously variable electronically controlled shock absorbers and self-levelling air strut assemblies front and rear.
Custom capabilities
The Black Badge Ghost Series II reflects a growing desire among Rolls-Royce customers to enjoy a dramatic expression of the brand’s uncompromising V12 engine and uniquely advanced chassis systems, while benefiting from Rolls-Royce’s unrivalled bespoke capabilities. The car features a range of innovative materials and techniques, including the marque’s dramatic Duality Twill fabric and Placed Perforation, an innovative contemporary craft technique that creates unique works of art in the seat leather.
