adidas has unveiled the new Algeria 2024 home and away kits and they are nothing short of spectacular. Inspired by the traditional Karakou – a historic Algerian garment known for its intricate gold embroidery – the kits pay homage to the country’s rich footballing and cultural heritage.
The home kit may appear simple at first glance, but closer inspection reveals intricate details that make it stand out. The kit is predominantly white, with subtle embossing that mimics the gold embroidery of the Karakou. Green and red accents, reflecting the colors of the national flag, complete the design. A beautiful blend of simplicity and elegance, this shirt perfectly captures the essence of Algerian tradition.
The away kit, on the other hand, is a vibrant green masterpiece. It features two shades of green, with a deeper shade as the base and a lighter green graphic inspired by the Karakou embroidery that runs across the chest and down the belly. The national coat of arms and the adidas Three Stripes performance logo are centered on the chest, adding a symmetrical touch to the design.
Both kits feature “Algeria” in Arabic on the back, symbolizing unity, pride and connection for Algerians around the world. This detail reflects adidas’ commitment not only to the association’s performance, but also to cultural representation through football.
Accompanying the kit launch is a film narrated by French-Algerian rapper Rim’K that highlights the deep ties between football and community. Set in Algiers, the film goes beyond the pitch to tell the stories of everyday Algerians – café owners, hairdressers and fans – who live the connection between football and everyday life. These stories, paired with Algerian stars such as Ramy Bensebaini, Houssem Aouar, Saïd Benrahma, Amine Gouiri and Ramiz Zerrouki, celebrate Algeria’s footballing excellence and cultural pride.
