adidas has entered the padel arena with the groundbreaking CRAZYQUICK Lightstrike, marking a significant milestone in this rapidly growing sport. This marks a significant milestone for the brand, which has spent more than a decade developing leading padel racquets and building more than 3,000 courts worldwide.
Kerryn Foster, General Manager of Specialist Sports at adidas, emphasizes the importance of addressing the unique needs of padel players. “Padel has grown tremendously in popularity, which has led to an increased demand for specialized footwear that addresses the unique characteristics of the sport,” said Foster. “Our goal was to design a shoe that supports fast, multi-directional movement, and we’re confident we’ve delivered a product that will enhance the experience of players at all levels.”
The CRAZYQUICK Lightstrike is the result of a collaborative effort between Adidas and grassroots and elite players, including renowned padel players Ale Galan and Marta Ortega. This shoe combines some of Adidas’ leading footwear design technologies, carefully adapted to create a product suitable for both professional and amateur players.
One of the key features of the CRAZYQUICK Lightstrike is the LIGHTSTRIKE MIDSOLE, which provides the perfect balance of energy return and comfort. This ultra-light layer of Lightstrike foam cushioning is tailored for fast sprints and dynamic movement, allowing players to move quickly and effortlessly around the court.
The shoe also features a SLING-FRAME CONSTRUCTION that provides lightweight support for quick directional changes. This innovative design provides stability without compromise by securing the foot exactly where it is needed. In addition, the outsole’s MULTIDIRECTIONAL TRACTION PATTERN features traction patterns designed to provide grip where it is needed most, with a circular “pivot point” pattern placed in the outsole’s highest rotational impact area.
Ale Galan, one of the world’s leading padel players, had the opportunity to work with Adidas on the development of the CRAZYQUICK Lightstrike. “This has been one of the most exciting experiences of my career,” said Galan. “To be a part of adidas’ first padel shoe has been an inspiring process, and I feel like the CRAZYQUICK Lightstrike is going to help us push our game to the next level, on and off the court.“
The CRAZYQUICK Lightstrike will be released on October 1st and marks the beginning of a new line of padel footwear from adidas. Additional styles are expected to launch later this year and the CRAZYQUICK Lightstrike will be available on the adidas website, in stores and via the adidas app.
