The release of Alien Romulus has sparked a collaboration between the iconic sci-fi franchise and Reebok, resulting in a unique rendition of the Reebok BB 4000 II Mid. This partnership brings the gritty aesthetic of the Alien universe to the sneaker world, offering footwear enthusiasts a chance to own a piece of cinematic history.
Reebok’s BB 4000 II Mid, originally launched as a basketball shoe in 1989, has been reimagined with a distressed look that echoes the intense atmosphere of the Alien films. The sneaker features a carefully crafted combination of white, red, and grey leather, deliberately smudged to evoke the feeling of surviving a xenomorph encounter.
Drawing inspiration from the legendary Alien Stompers worn by Sigourney Weaver’s character Ripley, the new design incorporates double straps, adding both style and functionality. The heel showcases the Weyland-Yutani logo, a nod to the franchise’s infamous corporation, further immersing wearers in the Alien universe.
The Reebok BB 4000 II Mid has seen various iterations since its reintroduction in 2022, including a notable partnership with Dime and a special colorway for basketball star Angel Reese.
Set to release on August 27, shortly after the theatrical debut of Alien Romulus, this limited-edition sneaker will be available on Reebok’s website for $170.
