The fascination with the Olympic Games extends far beyond the athletic competition, often fueled by nostalgia and childhood memories. Panini, the renowned collectible sticker company, has partnered with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to produce Olympic Games stickers and cards. This collaboration aims to reignite the joy of collecting and trading for a new generation.
“There have been several projects with Panini and some National Olympic Committees in the past, but for the first time, this collection offers fans unique digital content featuring athletes of different sports from all over the world,” stated Elisabeth Allaman, Deputy Managing Director of IOC Television and Marketing Services.
The forthcoming Olympic Games in Paris 2024 and the Winter Games in Milano Cortina 2026 will see a resurgence of a beloved pastime: collecting and trading Olympic Games stickers. The allure of these collectibles lies in their ability to encapsulate the excitement and global unity of the world’s most prestigious sporting event.
The IOC and Panini goes beyond traditional physical albums, introducing a new dimension with digital collectibles. This innovative approach allows fans to engage with the Games in an unprecedented way, fostering a deeper connection with the athletes and the spirit of the Olympics. Fans can anticipate the release of the Paris 2024 album, which will be available this month. This launch signifies the first-ever digital collectible album for the Olympic Games.
The digital album provides access to exclusive content, including special gold cards that can be redeemed for extraordinary experiences, such as virtual Q&A sessions with Olympic athletes and legends. This interactive element adds another layer of engagement for collectors, allowing them to connect with their sporting idols on a more personal level.
Physical and digital albums are not available in the USA, China, Russia and Belarus. The Paris 2024 Album is only available digitally in France.
