The tech world might be quiet during the summer, but Samsung is prepared to liven things up with its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2024 event scheduled for July 10th in Paris. While new Galaxy S devices are unlikely to be unveiled this time around, there’s plenty to be excited about, including the potential reveal of next-generation foldables, a new smartwatch lineup, and Samsung’s intriguing Galaxy Ring.
Galaxy Ring: A new era in wearable tech
Perhaps the most intriguing product expected to debut at Galaxy Unpacked 2024 is the Samsung Galaxy Ring. This smart ring, available in platinum silver, gold, and ceramic black, will offer advanced health tracking capabilities, including heart rate, movement, breathing, sleep, and fertility monitoring. The Galaxy Ring’s compatibility with Galaxy Watches promises even more accurate health data for users.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are also anticipated to make an appearance at Unpacked. While updates may be minor, the Z Flip 6 is rumored to feature a larger 4,000 mAh battery, up to 12GB RAM, and the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Camera upgrades are also expected, with the 50MP camera from the Galaxy S23 and S24 potentially making its way to the Z Flip 6.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6, meanwhile, is likely to maintain its screen size and thickness but may incorporate Corning Gorilla Armor and anti-reflective tech for improved durability. A chipset upgrade to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is also probable.
Galaxy Watch and Watch Ultra: next-gen smartwatches
The Galaxy Watch 7 is set to impress with a 3nm chipset for enhanced power efficiency and performance, along with upgraded health sensors and AI-powered features for sleep, exercise, and communication.
But the real showstopper could be the Galaxy Watch Ultra. Leaked images suggest a chunkier, rectangular design with a round watch face and a digital crown-style dial and button combo. At a rumored $700 price point, the Watch Ultra will need to pack a punch to justify its premium positioning.
Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro: improved audio experience
Lastly, the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro are expected to make their debut, offering IP57 dust and water resistance, SmartThings Find support, and potentially a stem design for better call quality. The Buds 3 Pro will likely feature a two-way speaker for richer audio, adaptive noise control, blade lights, and ambient sound, while both models should offer active noise cancellation.
