Balenciaga and Under Armour have joined forces to create a new collection that redefines the boundaries of sportswear and luxury fashion. First unveiled at Balenciaga’s Spring 2025 show in Shanghai, the highly anticipated collaboration has finally arrived with an impressive range of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, sneakers, bags, jewelry, sunglasses and accessories. This new partnership brings together the best of both worlds, combining Under Armour’s expertise in athletic apparel with Balenciaga’s bold and innovative approach to fashion.
The campaign, shot by photographer and videographer Joseph Kadow, showcases the collection in a dynamic and energetic way, with slow-motion videos of models Léa and Gedeon running in products from the Balenciaga x Under Armour series. Still images from the video footage are paired with imagery that highlights the unique fusion of Under Armour’s sportswear aesthetic with Balenciaga’s signature silhouettes.
One of the standout features of the collection is the footwear, which includes co-branded special editions of the Balenciaga Runner and 3XL, as well as the new Hyper sneaker. The Hyper model is the result of a collaboration between Under Armour’s footwear expertise and Balenciaga’s exploration of the archetypal athletic shoe. Its anatomical, sock-like upper wraps around the foot, with the ribbed material reinforced by glossy panels and adorned with Balenciaga x Under Armour co-branding. The footwear range retails between $995 and $1,190.
The ready-to-wear collection reflects Under Armour’s signature athletic base-layer pieces and reversible garments, including windbreakers, quarter-zip pullovers and tracksuit separates. Jerseys, track pants, shorts, baselayer tops and other archetypal garments are also available as hybrid trompe l’œil pieces that appear to be individually layered, but are actually fused together as one. The collection also includes zip-up hoodies, sweatpants and other garments and accessories, such as Balenciaga’s signature baggy denim, interspersed with Under Armour sportswear details.
Accessories play an important role in the collection, with silver-plated jewelry recontextualizing the Under Armour logo as the turn-lock clasp of a heavy choker necklace and as hoop and stud earrings. Sleek, single-mold wraparound sunglasses place the logo between the eyes on an ergonomic nose bridge. A leather-lined hoodie tote transforms a zip-up hoodie into a functional shoulder bag, with the hood serving as the handle. Duffle bags, backpacks and crossbody messenger bags are reimagined in glossy leather or made from recycled nylon with the house’s signature washed, perforated and distressed finishes.
