The Fall/Winter 2024 season sees a renewed collaboration between Italian outerwear powerhouse C.P. Company and revered Japanese designer Junya Watanabe MAN. This second partnership sees them reinterpret a timeless classic, the fishtail parka, with a blend of military-inspired details, innovative materials and Watanabe’s signature deconstructivist touch.
Known for his ability to subvert classic silhouettes and infuse them with avant-garde flourishes, Watanabe brings a fresh perspective to the fishtail parka. The result is a garment that seamlessly balances functionality with a touch of unexpected style. It’s a loose, unstructured design that complements C.P. Company’s long-standing reputation for technical excellence and commitment to creating pieces designed for real-world wear.
While the core elements of the Fishtail Parka remain – a full-front zipper hidden under a protective flap, a drawstring waist for adjustability, and adjustable cuffs – the collaboration elevates the design with the inclusion of C.P. Company’s iconic Explorer hood. This signature feature, with a unique front zipper, provides additional warmth and protection from the elements.
Staying true to both brands’ commitment to quality, the parka is meticulously crafted in Japan from a rugged 3-layer laminated nylon that repels water. The interior is lined with a durable nylon twill fabric for long-lasting wear. But functionality doesn’t have to be sacrificed for style. Lightweight PrimaLoft insulation keeps you warm without restricting movement, while Boa polyester lining in the hood adds a touch of luxurious comfort.
This limited edition collaboration is available for purchase on C.P. Company’s website, at its flagship stores in Milan, Seoul and Tokyo, and at select retailers worldwide.
